Terms of Service

Last updated: March 5, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Caricom Freight Consolidators ("we," "us," or "our"), including our website at shipwithcaricom.com and all freight consolidation, shipping, and related services. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

We provide freight consolidation and shipping services from the United States to Jamaica and the Caribbean. Services include ocean freight, air freight, door-to-door delivery, barrel shipping, and package forwarding. All shipments are subject to our published rates and service terms.

2. Dock Receipts and Shipping

A dock receipt is issued for all cargo received at our warehouse. The dock receipt serves as the primary billing document and contains the description, weight, and declared value of your shipment. You are responsible for providing accurate information about your cargo.

Shipments are subject to inspection by customs authorities. We are not responsible for delays, seizures, or additional duties imposed by customs. Prohibited and restricted items as defined by U.S. export regulations and Jamaican import regulations may not be shipped.

3. Rates and Payment

Shipping rates are published on our website and may be updated periodically. Invoices are generated based on dock receipt data and are due upon receipt unless other terms are arranged. Late payments may incur additional charges.

Online payments are processed securely through Stripe. We also accept cash and checks at our warehouse location.

4. Liability and Insurance

Our liability for loss or damage to cargo is limited to the declared value on the dock receipt, up to a maximum of $100 per package unless additional insurance is purchased. We are not liable for damage caused by improper packing, inherent defects, or acts of God.

We strongly recommend that shippers obtain their own cargo insurance for valuable items. Claims for loss or damage must be filed within 30 days of delivery.

5. Cargo Release

Cargo will be released to the consignee named on the dock receipt or their authorized representative upon presentation of valid government-issued identification. All outstanding invoices must be paid before cargo release.

6. Prohibited Items

You may not ship hazardous materials, illegal substances, firearms, perishable goods (unless arranged in advance), or any items prohibited by U.S. export or Caribbean import regulations. We reserve the right to refuse any shipment at our discretion.

7. Account Terms

If you create an account on our website, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You must provide accurate and current information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Caricom Freight Consolidators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or website, regardless of the cause of action.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
